Well, hello there. I’m Christine Wolf Hoover. To introduce myself, how ‘bout I tell you some of the things I love instead of giving you a boring, bullet point list of jobs I’ve had? I do want you to know about my qualifications as a trauma-informed psychotherapist. (You can find more about me here.) But first things first.

I love long road trips. I love my granddaughter’s single dimple on her squishy left cheek. I adored the way our old golden retriever peed no less than 12 times on our walks, sniffing and aiming for the perfect spot each time. I love belly laughing. Don’t even get me started on game playing! I love describing my rural upbringing in Arneckeville, Texas. I love 3 mile evenings runs in my Piney Woods neighborhood. I love telling stories. I am addicted to being outside. I love the freedom found in Jesus alone. I love the feeling of crawling out of bed to share a cup of “empty nesting coffee time” with Chris on the back porch. I cannot even tell you how much I love to travel. OH MY GOSH I love my adult kids and their significant others. I love having dinner with friends in our beloved backyard, laughing and sipping wine. I’m a glutton for chips and salsa. I’m an avid reader. I cherish having friends I have loved for decades. I love writing. And I LOVE sitting across the couch from my clients, creating time and space for them to explore both the beauty and trauma packed away in their innermost being.

My work with clients is birthed out of my own journey through pain, betrayal, and confusion. As I have leaned in and listened to what God has taught me, a passion developed to help others find this same hope. I have sat on a few "couches" of wise and grace-filled counselors who helped me see what I could not see with my own eyes. I also know that many people (maybe you included) have sat on some "couches" and walked out feeling untouched and empty, having wasted your time and money. I take what I do seriously. I commit to work as hard as you. Things CAN change.

I’m an adventurer at heart, from backpacking through Europe as a 21 year old to camping across New Zealand in a hippy campervan with my husband. Don’t get me started on wild camping in Costa Rica! I absolutely LOVE the unknown windy road of the soul, which makes me love my work all the more. Sitting with people in their sacred, hard spaces is one of the greatest honors of my life. Thanks for stopping by.

INDIVIDUAL AND COUPLE COUNSELING

We live in a culture where admitting a struggle can be looked down upon; where asking for help is a sign of weakness. It is hard to feel alone and uncertain of what next steps to take. You know you need to face somethings in your past, or maybe even some difficulties in the here and now. Reaching out is courageous. Facing this pain is a brave, bold step. But you can do it!

3 or 5 HOUR THERAPY INTENSIVES

Looking for some practical help, but in a more concentrated way? Wanting to take bold new steps or untangle old messes? Secretly dreaming of courageous new adventures but not sure where to start? A 3 or 5 Hour Therapy Intensive with a licensed counselor, who has decades of experience in working with people, could be the exact journey your soul has been waiting for.

WRITINGS AND PONDERINGS

This is a easy way to find some of my ponderings and my thoughts. I’ve been writing for all of my life, but the timidity of how to best offer my voice in this great big world already saturated with “real writers” can get the best of me. I hope you find some encouragement and hope for this messy world we are all navigating. Be on the lookout for new content as I constantly add to my writings.

Speaking EVENTS and topics

Here you will find my upcoming speaking events as well as a list of workshops I can teach for your group or organization. I can custom design what your organization needs. I am passionate about my work! I love educating and training about topics such as trauma recovery, trauma-informed spiritual development, attachment, emotional health, as well as mental health awareness.
